Spring 2017 || Cohort 9

How might we accelerate the financial well-being and economic mobility of underserved populations?

The Problem

In the U.S., over 57% of US adults – nearly 138 million – struggle financially. More than half of Americans have little or no savings at all. At the same time, the prevalence of costly subprime financial products creates challenges and restricts opportunities for many. The financial health of lower income families, young adults, immigrants, and other disadvantaged communities is increasingly threatened by income volatility and job insecurity, often resulting in cycles of low wage jobs and economic challenges that become generational and systemic.

How might we accelerate the financial well-being and economic mobility of underserved populations?
