While nearly 80% of middle-skill jobs require basic digital proficiency, 1 in 6 Americans are unable to use email or other basic online tools. Last year, 500,000 computing jobs were open nationwide, yet we produced less than 43,000 computer science graduates. This digital divide produces an economic disadvantage, with positions requiring mid-to-high digital skills offering, on average, $43 - $73K in annual salary, compared to $30K for low digital skill roles.
